Plaid Cymru minority government · Rhun ap Iorwerth was elected First Minister on 12 May 2026 (44–34–7, with Green support; Labour and the Liberal Democrats abstained). It is the first non-Labour-led Welsh government since devolution began in 1999; outgoing First Minister Eluned Morgan lost her seat and resigned as Welsh Labour leader.
